Dinner with 12 Buffs
Last spring Dynelle Tadlock (Comm,Psych’93; Law’96) welcomed 12 CU-鶹ӰԺstudents into her 鶹ӰԺ home fordinner, all strangers to each other at first. They feasted on tacos and burritos, talked up theirfavorite places to eat and play in the city and swapped stories about CU.
Tadlock, an attorney for the U.S. Postal Service and an early stalwart of an Alumni Association programcalled Dinner with 12 Buffs, will open her home again in April, this time to a new group of students, and she hopes to host a dinner for CU alumni after she moves to San Diego in May.
“I think everyone should do this,” she says of theprogram, which connects students and young alumni with fellow Buffs near them. “I loved seeing the genius of the young Buffs.”
More alumni are doing it, too: This April 8 to 10the event is going national — Buffs will gather inthe Washington, D.C.-area home of Brian Cowan(Mktg’79), president of management consulting firm Cowan & Associates, and in Simi Valley, Calif., with Lisa Ayala-Williams (Mktg’86), an executive at Walt Disney Studios.
“Dinner with 12 Buffs allows for alumni to giveback to their university,” says program facilitatorDawn Barone (Hist, Psych’09). “It’s a time for them to learn about the student experience today and to share their experience as a Buff with others.”
