With a three day total of 213, Jessica Wallace finished 3-under par at the University of Missouri鈥檚 Johnie Imes Invitational in October. She also won CU鈥檚 Heather Farr Memorial Invitational.
The CU women鈥檚 golf program earned two team victories in a season for the first time, claiming titles in the Buffs鈥� Heather Farr Memorial Invitational in October and at a Colorado State-hosted tournament. The Heather Farr victory, which also included an individual win by Pepperdine transfer聽Jessica Wallace, was particularly emotional as it came less than 24 hours after five CU players (including Wallace) were involved in a three-car accident.
鈥淲e showed a lot of heart and played for each other,鈥� coach Anne Kelly says. 鈥淚t鈥檚 like a movie plot. In all my years of golf, this is one of the gutsiest performances I鈥檝e ever seen.鈥�
The team鈥檚 strong start to the season 鈥� it finished in the top three in all four of its tournaments through the end of October 鈥� vaulted the Buffs into the top 25 in the national rankings.
颁鲍鈥檚听Emily Talley聽was named Big 12 Women鈥檚 Golfer of the Month for September. In the first two months of the season, the junior recorded four straight top-10 individual finishes, which extended her program record to five.
As for the CU men, they finished seventh in the inaugural Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, named in honor of Buffs longtime men鈥檚 coach聽Mark Simpson聽(Rec鈥�83), who died five years ago after battling cancer.
