Linda Lappe (Mktg’02), named CU women’s basketball head coach in the spring, filled out her staff by adding Jennie Baranczyk, Johnna Pointer and Jonas Chatterton as assistant coaches.
Baranczyk was formerly an assistant at Marquette, while Chatterton worked at Brigham Young University for much of the last decade. Pointer is a former University of Texas player who recently ran the Hoop 10 basketball program that she founded in Amarillo, Texas.
Lappe’s first letter-of-intent signee at CU was center Rachel Hargis of Robinson, Texas. Meanwhile, the Buffs suffered a key loss as sophomore guard and Colorado native Alyssa Fressle decided to transfer. Fressle averaged 7.8 points, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game as a regular starter last season.
