Thanks to Steve Kerr鈥檚 (Rec鈥78) generosity, CU鈥檚 golf program has an official home golf course in Erie called the Colorado National Golf Club.

Steve Kerr (Rec鈥78) played golf at CU and so did his daughter, Erin Kerr (Jour鈥05), and thanks to his generosity the university鈥檚 golf programs now have an official course to call home.

Kerr purchased Vista Ridge Golf Club in Erie and renamed it Colorado National Golf Club in honor of it becoming home for the CU men鈥檚 and womens鈥 teams. A 30-year licensing and usage agreement was announced in March, and a variety of CU functions will be held at the club.

Three-time U.S. Open champion Hale Irwin (Mktg鈥67) participated in grand opening ceremonies at CNGC on May 2.

Meanwhile, No. 1 female player, freshman Emily Childs, decided to transfer and didn鈥檛 compete after February. Freshman Emily Talley earned all-tournament honors at the Big 12 meet by finishing sixth, and the Buffs received an NCAA regional berth for the first time in the 15-year history of the womens鈥 golf program.

On the men鈥檚 side, Pat Grady matched senior Derek Tolan with two individual victories for the regular season by winning CU鈥檚 Stevinson Ranch Invitational in April. For the fourth consecutive year, the men鈥檚 team played in the NCAA tournament regionals. The Coloradan went to press before the May 14-16 event.
