IAWP Program Director and Associate Chair for Graduate Studies in听Media Studies Lori Emerson听is also an associate professor in the Media Studies department and founding director of the . She writes about media poetics as well as the history of computing, media archaeology, media theory and digital humanities. Her current book project is titled听Other Networks, a history of telecommunications networks that existed before or outside of the Internet.

Her published books include听THE LAB BOOK: Situated Practices in Media Studies, co-written with Jussi Parikka and Darren Wershler (University of Minnesota Press, 2022) and听Reading Writing Interfaces: From the Digital to the Bookbound听(University of Minnesota Press, 2014). She is co-editor of three collections:听The Johns Hopkins Guide to Digital Media, with Marie-Laure Ryan and Benjamin Robertson (2014);听Writing Surfaces: The Selected Fiction of John Riddell, with Derek Beaulieu (Wilfrid Laurier University Press, 2013); and听The Alphabet Game: a bpNichol Reader, with Darren Wershler (Coach House Books 2007).
