Dylan Thomas Doyle is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Â鶹ӰԺ Department of Information Science advised by Dr. Jed Brubaker.

His research explores the intersection between values, healthcare, AI, and technology design.

Dylan is currently working to support an NSF-sponsored grant to study the support of end-of-life planning for online accounts and data and the design of systems that support post-mortem data management. This research uses qualitative methods and community-based design to guide the design of supportive technology for people bereaved by the death of a loved one. Dylan’s other research includes work on online suicide bereavement support, healthcare data ecosystems, AI ethics, and designing digital tools to improve advanced care planning for patients with chronic conditions.

Dylan received his BA in Sociology from Sarah Lawrence College and his Masters of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University with a focus in Psychology. He is an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister and board certified hospital chaplain.

Dylan’s industry experience includes interning as a UX research for Verizon Media and Yahoo!, and ethics consulting with SME’s in Denver, Scotland, and beyond.
