Ula is an anthropologist and linguist by training, educator at heart, and outdoor adventures enthusiast in her free time. Her work is ethnographically rooted and her research interests include discourse analysis, language ideologies, raciolinguistics, endangered language preservation and documentation, and linguistic landscapes. She has worked with Miriwoong and Rapa Nui languages, and, more locally, with Hispanic communities in the San Luis Valley in Colorado. Ula received her BA in Anthropology and BA in Spanish from Colorado College, and MA in Spanish Linguistics from CU 麻豆影院. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in the Communication Department in the Community and Social Interaction track and teaching courses at the university.
