Laine Zizka is a Communication Ph.D. student in the organization communication emphasis. Her primary research interests are crisis communication, the act and process of organization, the ways in which communities weather crises through communication, and the connection between identity and narrative.
Laine has a B.S. in Communication and a B.A. in Anthropology with a minor in Political Science from Texas Christian University. She also earned her M.S. in Communication from the Bob Schieffer College of Communication at TCU. Laine uses all of these academic backgrounds in her research. At TCU, she wrote her thesis on narrative construction of identity and community resilience in Newfoundland, Canada during and after 9/11.
In her free time, Laine is likely jamming out to听musicals, mainlining podcasts, or walking with her dog, Zelda.
