Melissa Pickett is a doctoral student in the department of Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design. Her broad research interests include social media, influencer marketing, online identity and self-presentation, brand identity and presentation, online communities, and transmedia storytelling.
Melissa holds a master's degree in communication and media management and a bachelor's degree in business administration with a marketing concentration, both from Colorado State University. She spent more than 20 years as a professional communicator and marketer for employers in various industries, including education, tech, real estate, healthcare, construction, nonprofit, and more. Thanks to this diverse background, she has experience developing and implementing strategic marketing and communication plans, standardizing organizational branding and tone, graphic and web design, and creative writing.
