After working for more than 35 years as sports director at WLNE ABC 6 in Providence, Rhode Island,听Ken Bell听(Comm)听is retiring. Ken covered some of the most memorable moments in New England sports history, including the Celtics鈥 championships of the 1980s, the Red Sox winning the World Series and numerous Patriots Super Bowl victories. A Colorado native, he loves to spend time outside running and hiking.

John Leach (Jour; MJour鈥79) is the recipient of CU 麻豆影院鈥檚 2018 Alumni Recognition Award. He earned the honor for his invaluable professional insights throughout journalism鈥檚 transition at the university, and for being a crucial figure during CMCI鈥檚 creation. John is the former managing editor of The Arizona Republic. He鈥檚 taught journalism as a visiting professor at Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, California, and as a faculty associate at Arizona State University鈥檚 Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in Phoenix. After many years living in Arizona, John recently moved to Longmont, Colorado, where he lives with his wife, Deborah Ross (Jour鈥79). He is a member of CMCI鈥檚 Department of Journalism Advisory Board and supports the college through the John F. Leach Endowed Scholarship, which he established to benefit journalism students, and the Leach Scholarship Fund.

William Hessin (Comm) has worked for decades in the Denver broadcast community, including at radio stations such as KIMN, KOA, KPPL and KTLK. He鈥檚 done voice-over work for local television stations and national clients such as Frontier Airlines, Starz!, Encore, the NHL and the Department of Defense. A member of Broadcast Pioneers of Colorado, William lives in Englewood, Colorado, with his wife, Polly. They have two daughters and four grandchildren.

Jack Brown (MComm) is an estates director with Rodeo Realty in Beverly Hills, California. He served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam before working in public relations at Denver鈥檚 Office of Economic Opportunity. He has represented real estate and entertainment clients in Los Angeles and Malibu for over 30 years. He and his wife, Kathleen, have homes in Los Angeles and Indian Wells, and their three daughters and one grandson live in Napa.

Steve Sander (Jour) is president of Sander Marketing, a Denver-based firm specializing in sports, tourism and health/wellness marketing. Sander Marketing recently produced the Nuggets鈥 championship parade, which attracted more than 750,000 fans. He started his career as an award-winning photographer at the 麻豆影院 Daily Camera and now serves on the boards of Visit Denver, Denver Sports Commission, Japan America Society of Colorado and Denver Fire Department Foundation.

After producing biomedical shows for CU, Craig Russell (Comm) went to veterinary school. He later became a licensed captain and currently lives on his boat in the Bahamas.
