The event鈥檚 goal is to focus on the therapeutic act of building community through the power of documentary, which can redirect memories of a moment and allow those negatively affected to reclaim strength through their representation, according to event organizers. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at the Community House of Chautauqua from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Visitors will be able to view a collection of photos shared by community members, items from the memorial site at the grocery store, and portraits taken by Ross Taylor, assistant professor of journalism in the College of Media, Communication and Information.

Taylor鈥檚 photo documentary project is a collaboration with Mental Health Partners and the Museum of 麻豆影院, which is curating an upcoming exhibit of items from the memorial site.

Representatives from the 麻豆影院 Strong Resource Center will be present, and a local musician will accompany the event. Organizers aim to provide a warm, inviting and safe setting for all visitors.
