Graduate students gathered with peers, staff and faculty members Friday to share research projects during the graduate research and creative practice fair in Norlin Library.
麻豆影院 20 displays showed research on topics ranging from media literacy to witchcraft and American civil religion.
"It's something I've been working on for a while," said graduate student Tara Walker, who presented her research applying feminist rhetorical criticism to advertisements from the Dove Men+Care campaign.
First year doctoral student Tammy Rae Matthews, who previously worked as an editor for the Chicago Sun-Times, presented her work exploring depictions of transgender athletes in sports media. Matthews鈥 research was inspired in part by her experience in roller derby.
鈥淚 played with and against trans athletes,鈥 she said.
Several of the students from the research fair will present their work during the International Communication Association鈥檚 67th听Annual Conference in May.
