Research Interests

My research interests are broadly focused on associations between gender and intimate relationship functioning. I am particularly interested in a variety of social, cultural, and economic factors that may impact women's roles and experiences in romantic relationships. The majority of research on women's roles in intimate relationships was conducted nearly 20 years ago, so my research aims to evaluate how attitudes toward women's roles in society and relationships have changed over time, including an exploration of the potential new measurement tools and methodological approaches needed to examine present-dayÌýattitudes toward women. My research seeks to integrate factors such as systemicÌýgendered expectations, prejudices, and other patriarchal normsÌýto understanding how these factors are associated with relationship functioning, with a particular emphasis on women's relationship quality and health.Ìý

My research interests also include neuropsychological constructs such as cognition, executive function, and neurological disorders, with a particular emphasis on how these constructs are associated with relationship functioning.
