We are a synthetic chemistry group developing functional hybrid materials with atomic/molecular precision to address fundamental challenges in sustainable energy and human health-related applications. By enabling synthetic tunability, we will manipulate the material鈥檚 physical properties (e.g., length-scale, shape, dimension) to understand transport/transfer processes.

Specifically, we will focus on framework materials (e.g., metal-organic frameworks) and their heterostructures to explore and further to leverage the emergent optical and electrical properties for targeted applications, including electrochemical energy storage/conversion, sensing, and electronic/photonic devices. Our research will also involve methodology development and in-depth characterization to advance materials development.
