Jennifer Cha Receives 2015 Provost鈥檚 Faculty Achievement Award

Norviel Associate Professor听Jennifer Cha听has been honored as a听2015 Provost鈥檚 Faculty Achievement Award听飞颈苍苍别谤.

鈥淭his award is a great testimony to the impact of Professor Cha鈥檚 research,鈥 says College of Engineering and Applied Sciences Dean Robert Davis.

Professor Cha was selected for her work on controlling the spatial organization of nanomaterials and for her use of DNA as the agent to direct nanomaterial organization. Her work has applications ranging from medicine to energy insofar as it provides an effective and ecologically sound means of manufacturing nanomaterials.

The Provost's Faculty Achievement Awards are presented annually to selected faculty who have offered recent significant publication or creative contributions in their academic fields. One award is designed for untenured faculty who are one or two years away from tenure review; a second award is for associate professors who are one to seven years past tenure. Each awardee receives a research grant and a plaque recognizing their achievement.
