Ted Randolph and Dan Schwartz Receive Vaccine Stabilization Patent
A patent for technology used to stabilize freeze-dried vaccines to withstand temperature extremes has been awarded to ChBE Professors听Ted Randolph听and听Dan Schwartz. This technology has applications in developing-world vaccination, as well as biodefense.
The CU Technology Transfer Office began prosecuting this family of patents, which includes multiple issued and pending patents in the U.S. and internationally, in 2007. The patent (U.S. 8,808,710, 鈥淢ethod of Preparing An Immunologically-Active Adjuvant-Bound Dried Vaccine Composition鈥) was issued on August 19, 2014.
CU Anschutz School of Pharmacy Professor听John Carpenter听and former ChBE research assistant听Amber Clausi听are also inventors on this patent.
