Patent for Improving Drug Formulations Awarded to Ted Randolph and BaroFold
A research team led by ChBE Gillespie ProfessorÌýTed Randolph, John Carpenter (CU School of Pharmacy), and the CU-based companyÌýÌýhas been awarded a patent for improving protein-based drug formulations used to treat cancers, infectious diseases and several other diseases. The invention reduces sub-visible particles that can cause adverse immune responses in the patient.
Other inventors on the patent are ChBE doctoral graduatesÌýAmber (Haynes) FradkinÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýMatthew SeefeldtÌý(now president of BaroFold).
The patent () was issued on April 15, 2014, with a related patent application pending in the U.S. and patent protection also being sought in Europe and Canada. Prosecution for this patent family began in July 2010.
