SharminÌýAfroz is a graduate student in Religious Studies at the Â鶹ӰԺ.ÌýSince childhood, she has been fascinated by the various religions, including their traditions, customs, festivals, and beliefs, which inspired her to study in the Department of World Religions and Culture at the University of Dhaka. She grew up in a small city in Bangladesh with a strong desire to improve the lives of underprivileged women and children in her country and to enlighten them about their religious rights. She was selected for the "2019 Bangladesh-China Youth Camp" in August 2019 and traveled to China to represent her country as a delegate for 13 days. She participated in cultural events and exchanged cultures with the host country, China. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked with the Nirbhik Foundation, an online platform, to promote awareness of violence against women and children, their rights, and other pressing issues in Bangladeshi culture. She earned the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Standards of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, a youth award program for self-development that includes the categories of Skill, Social Service, Physical Recreation, and Adventurous Journey.Ìý
