Taisa received a BA in May 2014 from St. Olaf College and majored in Mathematics and Mathematical Biology. Originally rostered in the Department of Applied Mathematics, she moved to the Department of Computer Science in 2017. Her first rotation was with Dr. David Bortz (Applied Mathematics). Her second rotation was with Dr. Sabrina Spencer (Biochemistry) and听her third rotation was with Dr. Sriram Sankaranarayanan (Computer Science). Taisa is co-advised by Dr. David Bortz and Dr. Sriram Sankaranarayanan and is a part of the MathBio and Verification of Cyber Physical Systems research groups. Taisa's research interests are in the application of mathematical models to biological systems, with primary focus on dynamical systems theory. She is currently working on the development of an artificial pancreas (AP) controller that automates insulin delivery for diabetic individuals.
