Chris received his BS in Computational Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2012. Following graduation, he worked as a Junior Specialist on an NIH-funded research project at the Turelli Lab in Davis, CA before joining the program in fall 2014. He is rostered in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. He did his first lab rotation with Dr. Nolan Kane (Ecology and Evolutionary Biology). Chris did his second lab rotation with Dr. Sam Flaxman (Ecology and Evolutionary Biology) and his third lab rotation with Dr. Robin Dowell (Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology). His research interests are evolutionary genomics, particularly local adaptations and speciation. He is also keen on developing novel computational and statistical methods for biologists to use in addressing problems in genomics. Chris is co-advised by Dr. Samuel Flaxman and Dr. Nolan Kane. Chris graduated in fall 2020.
