Appeals Process

An appeal is a request for a change. Students can fill out an Appeals Form for one of the following reasons:
  • ÌýBeginning-of-Session: Section Change or Level Change
  • ÌýMid-Session: Re-evaluation of Probation Status or Honor Code Violation
  • ÌýEnd-of-Session: Level Change, Skip a Level, Final Exam Grade, Final Course Grade, Leave Status, or Dismissal Status.

Here is the process for appeals at the beginning of the session:
  • Go to all of your classes on the first and second day. You must go to classes in order to submit an appeal.
  • Talk to your IEC Academic Advisor and fill out an Appeals Form
  • Submit form by 1:00 pm on the second day of class
  • Check your CU email for decision by the the Appeals CommitteeÌý

For mid-session appeals, students may talk to their Academic Advisor at any time and fill out an Appeal Form. Mid-session advising is a good time to complete this form.
Here is the process for appeals at the end of the session:
  • Go to end-of-session advising
  • Talk to your IEC Academic Advisor and fill out an Appeals Form
  • Submit form by 11:00 am on advising day
  • Check email for decision by the the Appeals Committee within two working days
If you have a complaint about someone or something at the IEC, you have the right to speak up and should feel confident that your problem will be heard and addressed. If you have a complaint, you can do the following.

If you are unhappy about any of the following processes, talk to the Assistant Director for Student Services:
  • Admissions procedureÌý
  • Financial procedures or requirements
  • Insurance
  • Housing
  • student events
  • Registration
  • Other non-academic matters
    Ìý
If you are unhappy about any of the following, talk to your Instructor directly:
  • Your Instructor
  • Your class grades or assignments
  • Any classroom problems

Your instructor will help you resolve the problem. If the problem is not resolved, speak to your IEC Academic Advisor.

Any issues which are not resolved, will be brought to the IEC Director.ÌýÌý
