This month's Science Hero award goes to Nick Gonyea and the AIM study team, including postdocs Jarrod Ellingson and Hollis Karoly. AIM is a complicated study involving a population that is challenging to recruit, a number of different types of study visits including an MRI session for many, and multiple therapy visits for all. Nick has done a fantastic job finding participants and helping to keep them going strong across the course of the study. Jarrod and Hollis have done a stellar job transitioning leadership and making sure the therapy component of the study is the best it can be. This is an important study with the potential to help people struggling to reduce their alcohol use. Nick, Jarrod, and Hollis are to be commended for their excellent work!
