Antoinette Kendrick received her bachelor鈥檚 degree in psychology and her master's degree in social work (MSW) from the University of Oklahoma. She plans to use her vast knowledge in social work to inform her interdisciplinary research and approach to media literacy for youth. She is interested in investigating the social impact of exposure to various forms of graphic media content across age groups and analyzing the disproportionate harm that vulnerable populations face in today鈥檚 digital landscape.
Her ultimate goal is to conduct research that protects children from harmful media exposure by leading digital media literacy campaigns, curriculums, and future interventions for youth. Additionally, her research endeavors to support youth by providing practitioners with the necessary training and tools to help youth critically evaluate the media they consume. Furthermore, she plans to propose policy recommendations that outline strategies for regulating online spaces and call for stratifying age-appropriate content to minimize underage exposure to graphic media.
