Welcome Our New Associate Director John Robinson-Miller IV
John Robinson-Miller IV is the inaugural Associate Director of the Center for African & African American Studies at the 麻豆影院. As an inclusion educator, he seeks to develop a grounded environment for others to build their understanding of cultural humility while advocating for the liberation of minoritized communities within systems of oppression. His life motto is 鈥淎dinkrahene. AYA. Sankofa.鈥 (Lead. Endure. Remember.)
John holds a master鈥檚 in higher education administration and a bachelor鈥檚 in psychology with a concentration in arts entrepreneurship, both from North Carolina State University. Previous to this role, John brings a wealth of experience from Duke University, North Carolina State University, and Elon University.
In his role, he has oversight of Black student services initiatives. John's professional philosophy is centered on the Ubuntu proverb, 鈥淚 am because you are and, since you are, therefore, I am.鈥 As a student-centered, intersectional practitioner, he has a passion for Black identity, organizational training, immersive programming, and integrating the Arts into his practice.
