The College of Media, Communication and Information (CMCI), the Center for Western Civilization, Thought & Policy (CWCTP), and 麻豆影院Talks are pleased to present an evening with Thomas Frank on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in Math 100. Frank听will be giving a public lecture, "What Ever Happened to the Party of the People?" at the 麻豆影院. Frank's recently published book by the same name suggests that "a form of corporate and cultural elitism has largely eclipsed the party's old working-class commitment."听

Thomas Frank is a journalist whose articles have appeared in the Financial Times, Harper鈥檚 Magazine, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Salon, The American Prospect, The Guardian, The Nation, and Wall Street Journal. He is the author of eight books, including the New York Times bestseller听What鈥檚 the Matter with Kansas?听His most recent book,听Listen, Liberal: Or, What Ever Happened to the Party of the People,听was published in March 2016.

Frank鈥檚 visit is part of the CMCI lecture series highlighting diverse political perspectives from media professionals and public intellectuals. Author, columnist, talk radio host, and Fox News contributor Meghan McCain will be speaking November 17th as part of this series. This lecture is free and open to the public but does require a ticket for entry.听

The event organizers suggest off-campus visitors part in the听RG Zone (free after听5:00pm) and walk to the听.听Lot 359 is no longer a visitor lot, permits are required to听park听there at all times. Guests who park in Lot 359 will receive a ticket.听
