Alec’s favorite colors are green and gray, or more specifically adding green (infrastructure) into grey (urban landscapes). His research interests focus on understanding the role green infrastructure can play in sustainable urban development, especially small-scale stormwater management opportunities and the public health effects of green space in urban areas.

Alec is a recent graduate of CU Â鶹ӰԺ's Masters of the Environment (MENV) program, in the sustainability, planning and management specialization. Prior to graduate school, Alec worked for two years in the environmental emergency response field with the Center for Toxicology and Environmental Health based out of Houston. He has responded to industrial accidents, chemical spills, pipeline leaks and train derailments all over the United States. These years spent working on infrastructure failures created the impetus to return to school and take a proactive role in supporting resilient and environmentally supportive infrastructure.
