Two graduating architectural engineering seniors earned Graduating Student Awards from the College of Engineering and Applied Science this year and shared their thoughts about their experiences at CU 麻豆影院.

Civil and architectural BS, MS and PhD students will celebrate graduation on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 12 p.m. at the Business Field behind the Koelbel building. A separate environmental engineering ceremony will take place May 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. on the Jennie Smoly Caruthers Biotechnology Building鈥檚 west lawn.

The civil and architectural engineering department awards recognize students in the department who have excelled in one or more areas that make up the undergraduate experience. The recognition is from the department, but the categories are the same as the College of Engineering and Applied Science awards. Awardees were selected based on peer, staff and faculty nominations as well as self-reported accomplishments and resumes. The Undergraduate Student Pathways Committee supported the nomination and selection process.

Four civil engineering graduate students have received 2023 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships, a prestigious award that recognizes and supports outstanding students in a wide variety of science-related disciplines. In total this year, CU 麻豆影院 had 43 winners, including 28 from the College of Engineering and Applied Science.

Fellows receive a three-year annual stipend of $37,000 and full coverage of tuition, fees and insurance, along with opportunities for international research and professional development that span five years.
