Announcing the Andrew Gelston Graham Graduate Fellowship

Andrew Graham

The department is pleased to announce that the Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering Excellence Award for Graduate Fellowship has been renamed in honor of Andrew Gelston Graham. The fellowship provides support to outstanding MS and PhD students in the department, including tuition and stipends.

Andrew was an outstanding student in the department who earned a bachelor of science in civil engineering in 2008. He was one of the first students to follow the department鈥檚 rigorous Engineering Science track curriculum. He did independent research on water quality as an undergraduate, and after graduation, took a job as a field services engineer in Alaska. He also enjoyed playing ultimate frisbee and spending time with his family and many friends.

Andrew was planning to start graduate school in civil engineering at CU-麻豆影院 when he was tragically killed near his family home in Centennial, Colorado, in November 2009. He had planned to go to graduate school to challenge and prepare himself for more innovative work, and someday perhaps become a teacher.

The Andrew Gelston Graham Graduate Fellowship was endowed by members of the faculty and named to honor the memory of Andrew鈥檚 scholarship as well as his enthusiasm for life鈥檚 challenges and promise.
