Emily Chan is a professor of psychology and director of the Bridge Scholars Program at Colorado College. She joined Colorado College in 2004, teaching courses in social psychology, research design, prejudice and stereotyping, and applied social psychology. She values research with undergraduate students and has involved students in research on culture and cognition, judgment and decision making, diversity and student success, and person and organizational reputation and branding. From 2014-2018 she served as the Associate Dean of Academic Programs and Strategic Initiatives where she oversaw strategy, operations, and implementation of initiatives in international study, field study, summer session, and academic diversity and inclusion initiatives for students and faculty. As a co-chair in the college's strategic planning, she facilitated the collaborative shaping and implementation of strategic initiatives, including the pre-college summer program, student grants program, mentored student research program, study abroad enrollment and financial aid management, and the evolution of a new faculty multi-dimensional mentoring program and chair leadership program. Chan received an A.B. summa cum laude in Psychology from Princeton, and her Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
