Sustainability Skills Workshop: Carbon Markets 101 /business/2025/02/05/sustainability-skills-workshop-carbon-markets-101 Sustainability Skills Workshop: Carbon Markets 101 Coco Goldman Wed, 02/05/2025 - 14:47 Tags: CESR Previous Event

As climate change becomes a central issue for businesses worldwide, understanding carbon markets is quickly becoming a critical skill for tomorrow's corporate leaders. Knowing how carbon markets work will be foundational knowledge for anyone in business—whether you're managing a startup or running a global corporation. This workshop will give you a clear understanding of how carbon markets work, why they’re crucial for tackling climate change, and how they impact business strategy.

To lead effectively on climate action, you'll need to be able to answer four key questions:

  1. How do carbon markets help reduce climate change?
  2. How is carbon turned into a tradeable credit?
  3. Are all carbon credits the same?
  4. Why are companies purchasing voluntary carbon credits?

In this Sustainability Skills workshop on Tuesday, 2/5 from 5 – 9pm, including pizza, we will unpack each question.
