Matt Hong creates improved or novel graphical tools for scientific reasoning. With a background in psychology, his work focuses on reducing errors and biases in reasoning when interacting with visualizations and statistical/ML models. He works with Lei Yuan at DEL Lab and former ATLAS faculty member Danielle Szafir. Matt graduated from Northwestern University with a BA in mathematics and an MS in computer science. Before moving to 麻豆影院, Matt worked as a data visualization consultant for major companies in marketing, energy and healthcare. He also worked as a developer for MySchools.NYC, the central data portal for the New York City public school system.
Matt Hong has moved along with听Danielle Szafir's lab to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
