Five outstanding colleagues have been named employees of the year by the College of Arts and Sciences at the 麻豆影院.

The honorees are:

• Jaime Birren,听procurement program manager in the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology听
• Katie Clark, office manager in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology听
• Paula Dufour, program assistant in the Department of Linguistics听
• Tim Lim, facilities manager in the Department of Physics
• Donna Maes, office manager in the Department of Mathematics

James W.C. White, interim dean of the college, recently notified the recipients of the awards, which include a $1,500 bonus.

叠颈谤谤别苍听was commended for her leadership in procurement and purchasing, along with her 鈥渃an do鈥� helpful attitude and 鈥渃onscientious and proactive efforts to instill confidence and knowledge with department purchasers, through one-on-one training鈥� and through 鈥淧ainless Procurement鈥� workshops she has led.听

Further, Birren 鈥渉elped drive changes and enhancements鈥� toward CU鈥檚 strategic procurement goals, White said, also praising her 鈥渋nterpersonal and inspired leadership skills.鈥澨�

颁濒补谤办听was praised for her听鈥減rofessionalism, excellent management skills, and boundless initiative,鈥� for her successful efforts to streamline and modernize office systems, procedures and records and for training others in best practices. 鈥淵our nominators all describe your contributions as being transformative for the smooth functioning and management鈥� of the department, White wrote.听

Additionally, Clark was cited for helping to navigate the department through a challenging period of staff vacancies.听

顿耻蹿辞耻谤听was cited for鈥渄emonstrated integrity, fiscal prudence, dedication, professionalism, while taking 鈥榗omplete ownership鈥� of the job鈥� during her longstanding tenure in linguistics,听White stated, adding:听

鈥淒epartment members particularly note your generous patience and compassion towards all in the diverse CU community, your personal interest in students鈥� welfare, and your proven initiative to improve teaching/learning conditions for graduate students and the working conditions for faculty. Two nominators point out that your efforts are often 鈥榖eyond the call of duty.鈥欌�澨�

尝颈尘听was cited for his outstanding problem-solving and project-management skills, strong work ethic, comprehensive technical knowledge, along with a helpful and positive attitude when responding to the 鈥渧ast array of challenging and potentially stressful situations as building manager for Duane Physics and Astrophysics.鈥�

In addition, Lim was commended for his role in strategic space planning, including improvements to spaces particularly used by students and the public, and his efforts toward the designation of gender-neutral restrooms.听

惭补别蝉听was cited for her professionalism, knowledge, sense of responsibility, and 鈥渋nvaluable guidance to multiple department chairs over the course of your 14-year department tenure, sometimes in an environment of department instability,鈥� White stated.

One nominator couldn鈥檛 imagine 鈥渁 staff member having a more positive, steady, long-term impact on the well-being of a unit鈥� than Maes has had in the Department of Mathematics.听
