All undergraduate students at CU Â鶹ӰԺ have a Primary Major. For students with multiple majors within the College of Arts and Sciences, the Primary Major is the major that was declared first. Students with more than one major in the College of Arts and Sciences can use the Primary Major Designation form to change the order of their declared majors, updating which major is designated as their Primary Major.

Note: A Primary Academic Advisor is assigned to every Primary Major. Primary Academic Advisors play a central role in supporting student success, including serving as a primary conduit for key personalized academic advising communication and graduation certification.

A Letter of Intent to Graduate is an official letter that provides proof a student has applied to graduate. This letter indicates the term the student intends to graduate along with their intended degree and major(s)/minor(s). The letter also specifically states that, degree completion cannot be confirmed at this time.

Letters of Completion are provided to students in the College of Arts and Sciences who have applied to graduate, have completed all degree requirements and need proof of their degree. The letter will be generated during the interim period when all grades are posted, and the degree audit is complete, but degrees have not yet been posted to transcripts.

Important: Once degrees are posted to transcripts, the college no longer provides Letters of Completion for that term. At that time, you must request transcripts or a degree verification from the Office of the Registrar to show proof of degree. You may request those here: www.colorado.edu/registrar/students/transcripts
