Nonlinear Waves Seminar - S. Chakravarty
S. Chakravarty, Department of Mathematics, University of Colorado Colorado Springs A class of rational solutions of the KPI equation I will revisit a class of KP "lump" solutions which were studied by Ablowitz & Villarroel as rational potentials of the non-stationary Schroedinger equation. Unlike other KPI lump solutions (simple lumps) which interact like solitons, these solutions exhibit rather interesting internal dynamics. In this talk, I will discuss a simple family of lumps which are generated by a positive definite polynomial of degree 2n, and present its explicit formula. Unlike simple lumps, these solutions have multiple peaks traveling with the same group velocity but can still be sorted as N simple lumps asymptotically in time. https://calendar.colorado.edu/event/nonlinear_waves_seminar_-_s_chakravarty
