Michelle Maiden and Mark Hoefer were published in . 聽Their paper,聽Modulations of viscous fluid conduit periodic waves, presents a theoretical investigation of the stability and dynamics of periodic waves in the viscous fluid conduit system. 聽New coherent wave structures called envelope solitons are identified. 聽Previous lab experiments by the group have observed dispersive shock waves in this system. 聽In a future project, the lab hopes to observe envelope聽solitons in experiments with viscous fluid conduits.
