| Event Description:
Leslie Greengard, Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Ney York University 100 years of electromagnetic waves: physics, simulation, and design We will review the analytic and computational foundations of Green鈥檚 function based methods for electromagnetic scattering, including high order integral representations, fast solvers, and quasi-periodicity. We will then discuss the development of easy-to-use numerical simulation environments, and present some applications to photonic crystals, random microstructures, and negative index materials. |
