Project Description
Are you an Engineering Plus student interested in improving the course experiences for all students? Would you love to dive into why students choose different emphasis and concentration combinations in undergraduate courses? Are you curious about the perspectives of students who transferred into e+ as older students versus those who started in their majors as first-years? Do you want to help students better market their degree pathway to potential employers and internships?
In this DLA, you will work with e+ faculty to identify a research question you’d like to investigate related to students’ experiences and the impact of choice on engineering undergraduate degree pathways. Together we will design a research strategy, explore relevant background literature, analyze the relevant data, and see what we can learn based on the analysis. Along the way you will gain experience in analyzing educational research data, with potential to develop and facilitate surveys, convene focus groups, and conduct interviews with enrolled engineering students. You will also have the option to publish and present a paper on your research at a regional educational conference.
